The purpose of Chapel is to foster an atmosphere which helps bring students to a closer relationship with Christ through worship and the word of God each week. We know that Jesus Christ, the author and perfecter of our faith, has a plan for the life of each student. We are here to develop and encourage their faith and spiritual maturity. We encourage students to love the Lord with everything they've got, while equipping them to get involved by taking their faith to their communities.
Our Chapel theme this year is "Remade" and our Theme Passage is 2 Corinthians 5:17-19.
A primary goal of Chapel this year is to help our students understand that God's call to salvation is a two-fold call; we have been "saved from and saved for." We have been made new unto new works.
We want to help our students understand the both/and of salvation in order to help them enter into God's redemptive story.
Each chapel begins with a student led worship time and is typically followed by a guest speaker.
As a means of fulfilling the school's mission of preparing students for a life of service to Christ and their world, each high school student must complete 8 hours of Christian service per quarter, and each middle school student must complete 4 hours of Christian service per quarter. This service must be performed during the current quarter for non-family members, verified by parents, and submitted for a percentage of the Bible grade.
