Mrs. Joanne Adamson began her teaching career in 1977, teaching 3rd grade, at Grant/White school in Forest Park, IL. Since then she has taught children from preschool through high school in both public and Christian schools. In 1992, she came to ACS teaching 4th grade for ten years and 3rd grade for one year. She felt God leading her to work with students who struggle to learn. In 2002, she began working with students one on one as an NILD Educational Therapist in the Discovery Center at ACS, finishing certification in 2007.  In 2007, Mrs. Adamson became the Focus Coordinator at ACS, helping high school students who struggle to succeed. In 2014, she completed her Master of Arts in Special Education, and Learning Behavior Specialist 1 endorsement. She and her husband, George, live in Aurora, IL. He is the Senior Chaplain at Stateville Prison in Joliet, IL. They have three children: Brittaney (Tom) Johnson -  Naperville, IL.; Jacquie - New York City, NY; and Rich - San Diego, CA. Rev. and Mrs. Adamson pastor the Aurora House of Prayer.
