Mrs. Joanne Adamson began her teaching career in 1977, teaching 3rd grade, at Grant/White school in Forest Park, IL. Since then she has taught children from preschool through high school in both public and Christian schools. In 1992, she came to ACS teaching 4th grade for ten years and 3rd grade for one year. She felt God leading her to work with students who struggle to learn. In 2002, she began working with students one on one as an NILD Educational Therapist in the Discovery Center at ACS, finishing certification in 2007. In 2007, Mrs. Adamson became the Focus Coordinator at ACS, helping high school students who struggle to succeed. In 2014, she completed her Master of Arts in Special Education, and Learning Behavior Specialist 1 endorsement. She and her husband, George, live in Aurora, IL. He is the Senior Chaplain at Stateville Prison in Joliet, IL. They have three children: Brittaney (Tom) Johnson - Naperville, IL.; Jacquie - New York City, NY; and Rich - San Diego, CA. Rev. and Mrs. Adamson pastor the Aurora House of Prayer.

Mrs. Valerie Anderson joined the staff at ACS in November of 2000. She was born in Coral Gables, Florida, and was raised in Florida and California. As a young adult, Mrs. Anderson moved to Washington, where she raised salmon for a living, and met her husband, Phil. In 2000, they moved to Illinois, to assist Phil's parents. They have three grown children: Graham, Patrick, and Whitney. The family attends Fox River Lutheran Church.

Dr. Rodrigo Azofeifa joined Aurora Christian Schools in 2019. He currently teaches Pre-K/5th grade Spanish. Before he joined ACS, Dr. Azofeifa has taught Spanish every grade level from K-12 at Cornerstone Christian Academy (CCA) in Sycamore, IL, since 2003. Mr. Azofeifa is an Adjunct Faculty member at Indiana Wesleyan University- Global Academic Program and for Wesley Seminar. Rev. Azofeifa and his wife, Ricci, live in Malta, IL, and serve as lead Pastor at Real Connection Church in DeKalb, IL. They are blessed with their two sons, Jeremy and Josue.

Mr. Jerry Baker’s lengthy teaching ministry with Christian schools began in 1988 at Covenant Christian School in Aurora, IL. He has spent three plus decades fulfilling the call on his life to be a teacher and to share his passion regarding Christ with his students. Mr. Baker holds a bachelor's degree from Lee University. Mr. Baker and his wife, Anne, have two daughters - Katie and Emily. The Baker family attends Sanctuary Church in Batavia, where Mr. Baker has served as a deacon and an elder. He currently teaches an Adult Sunday school class.

After graduating from Taylor University in Upland, Indiana, in 1985, Mrs. Cami (House) Beck moved to New York to work at Nyack College in the Student Development program. However, believing God's call on her life meant teaching, she returned to Aurora to complete her certification at Aurora University and began teaching at Aurora Christian School in the fall of 1987. Although she currently teaches senior level Novels and Composition and AP Language and Composition, she also serves as the College Guidance Counselor, and oversees the school's drama program. Her roles at ACS have been varied, including all middle and high school levels of English instruction, team teaching the chapel band course, and even running the library. Mrs. Beck and her husband, Ted, live in Montgomery, Illinois, and love attending St. Olaf Lutheran Church.
Mr. Dan Beebe became athletic director in March 2010. Mr. Beebe was raised in Sugar Grove, IL and graduated from Kaneland High School in 1986. He completed his undergraduate degree from Chadron State College in 1992 and began his teaching career in 1993 at Spring Valley Hall High School. After teaching there for two years, he went back to graduate school at Chadron State College and became an assistant basketball coach. After completing his master's degree in secondary administration in 1997, he became the head men's basketball coach at the college from 1997-2006. During these years he served as Campus Crusade for Christ coordinator for the college. Mr. Beebe and his wife Stacy have two sons, Trey and Ty. They currently attend Fox River Church in Norway, IL.

Dr. Stacy Beebe has eight years teaching experience in K-12 and twelve years in higher education. Most recently, she served as the program coordinator for the physical education teacher education program at Aurora University. She has an undergraduate degree in K-12 physical education and health, with a minor in educational psychology, from Chadron State College. Dr. Beebe has a master’s degree in both elementary and secondary administration and holds a current type 75 Illinois Professional Teaching License. In 2011, she graduated with her Doctoral degree in Instructional and Curriculum Leadership from Northcentral University. As a faculty member at Aurora University, she also led the Fellowship of Christian Athletes Group. Dr. Beebe and her husband, Dan, have two sons, Trey and Ty. They currently attend Fox River Church, in Norway, IL.

Mrs. Linda Behrens joined the ACS staff in 1999. She is currently team teaching 4th / 5th grades, but has taught every grade level from K-5 during her 48+ years of teaching. For a portion of her time at ACS, Mrs. Behrens was also the Reading Coordinator as the school launched a new Reading curriculum. Prior to joining ACS, she taught at two different Christian schools in CA starting in 1984, which began her career in Christian Education. Her first 10 years of teaching were in the public school systems of Yorkville and Joliet. Mrs. Behrens and her husband, Jim, live in Aurora where he is currently pastor of MorningStar Community Church. Jim and Linda are grateful for and proud of their two daughters, Kari and Kati, who are ACS Alumni, their two wonderful sons-in-law, and their 2 grandchildren - an adorable grandson, Micah, and a beautiful granddaughter.

Mrs. Patricia Butts joined the staff at Aurora Christian in 2017 as a part-time Extended Care assistant for elementary and preschool. In 2020, she transitioned to the ACS cafeteria, where she leads the team as the Food Services Coordinator. Mrs. Butts came to know Jesus Christ as her Savior in her mid-twenties and has been blessed and encouraged by the Lord’s faithfulness in her life. Before joining the ACS family, she practiced as an architect for many years before becoming a stay at home mom. She and her husband live in North Aurora with their three young adult children. They enjoy worshiping at Village Bible Chapel in Sugar Grove.

Mrs. Cobb grew up in Batavia, IL. She graduated from Olivet Nazarene University where she earned a BS. in athletic training. While earning her masters in organizational leadership at Olivet, she worked with various sports teams as an athletic trainer. Mrs. Cobb also teaches Sports Medicine at ACS. She and her husband live in Montgomery. They currently attend Harvest New Beginnings.

Mr. Michael Cobb is a Michigan native and graduate of Olivet Nazarene University. He joined the ACS staff in 2016 as a Middle School and High School Physical Education Teacher. Prior to working at Aurora Christian, he worked for OAK Athletic Development in Bourbonnais, IL as an Athletic Development Personal Trainer working with everyone from middle schoolers and high schoolers to retirees on how to live a life of wellness. Michael finds joy in being able to build relationships with his students, and highly values the Christian environment that ACS provides both students and staff. Michael married fellow ONU grad Melissa Cobb, who is the ATC on staff at ACS. Michael stays busy coaching HS Cross Country and Junior Varsity Girls Basketball. Outside of school, the Cobbs enjoy building things, watching movies, and spending time with their two dogs, Kevin and Maggie.

After graduating from the University of Illinois in 2005, Mr. Matthew Cunningham began his career in education as a public school English teacher. In 2012, Mr. Cunningham temporarily stepped away from teaching and soon began preparing for ministry by pursuing a Master’s Degree in Christian Studies at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School. While pursuing this degree part-time, he also worked as a carpenter, served as an assistant to his pastor, and began teaching Bible classes at Aurora Christian. He has been blessed to be able to put his training and life experience into practice here at ACS, helping students to know and to love God and His Word. Mr. Cunningham also enjoys hiking, camping, playing games, competing in sports, and cheering for ACS teams. He, his wife, and his two children are active members of Highpoint Church.

Mrs. Jaimee Draper began teaching at ACS in 2013. She teaches HS English, Speech and Sophomore Girls Bible. She has also taught Worship Band, Creative Writing, and Theater Club at ACS. She has been teaching in ACSI certified Christian schools for 20 years. She began her career in AZ for the first 10 years, teaching Theater and Speech. She ran a theater program and directed HS musicals for 10 years at NCS in AZ. She then taught English, Speech and Art for 4 years at CCA before coming to Aurora Christian. She is married to the Senior Pastor of Bethany Road Bible Church in DeKalb, and has two children. She serves on worship team and women's ministry at her church. Mr. Scott Etchison came to Aurora Christian School in 1985 after graduating from Taylor University to fulfill his lifelong dream of teaching 5th grade. After seven years of teaching, he served as the preschool and elementary principal. Mr. Etchison now teaches 3rd graders typing skills and 4th-5th graders learn the Google platform, Google Docs, Google Sheets, and Google Slides.
Mr. Etchison is married to Naomi and they have four adult children. Ruth (2011 ACS Grad) lives in Maryland with her two children. Kelly (2013 ACS Grad) and her husband, Joshua (2011 ACS Grad), live in Central Illinois with their two children. Mary (2015 ACS Grad) and her husband, Tyler, live in Michigan with their son. And Noah (2019 ACS Grad) lives in Aurora. The Etchisons attend Village Bible Church in Sugar Grove where they lead a small group and are involved in various ways.
Mrs. Fessler grew up in Aurora and is an ACS alumni. She attended Indiana Wesleyan University, where she graduated with her elementary education degree. Mrs. Fessler taught preschool for four years before taking time off to be home with her children. Mrs. Fessler and her husband, Zac, have four children and live in Aurora. Mrs. Fessler started teaching Kindergarten at ACS in 2020.

Mr. Joseph Fews is an alumnus of Aurora Christian, class of 2004. Upon graduating high school, he vowed to himself to stay away from school after he graduated college. The Lord had different plans for his life and moved his heart to use his gifts to educate children. Mr. Fews started his
teaching career as a substitute teacher in Waukegan and Zion public schools. His eyes were opened to the needs of young learners and moved forward with a full-time career in special needs education, as a paraprofessional at Clare Woods Academy (2010). He soon coupled his special
ed. career with working as an at home therapist for Autism Home Support Services. After 6 years and further prompting from God, Mr. Fews decided to return to school himself and become a certified teacher. During 2020, a year of shut-downs and hardships, God opened multiple doors at ACS for Mr. Fews to finish his degree program as a student teacher, and later became a 3rd grade teacher, and a high school science teacher as well. Mr. Fews feels truly blessed to answer God’s call and do His work here at ACS. Mr. Fews and his wife, Julia, have 1 daughter, (Clara). Their family attends Ginger Creek Community Church in Aurora.

Mrs. Melody Gile began teaching Spanish in 2007 at Batavia High School, where she taught for nine years. While staying at home with her infant son, Mrs. Gile felt God calling her to pursue teaching in a Christian school. She followed that calling to Aurora Christian in 2018. Mrs. Gile graduated with a Bachelor’s of Science in Spanish Education from University of Wisconsin-Whitewater in 2007. She studied abroad in Costa Rica and is passionate about traveling and using language as a way to be the hands and feet of Jesus to others. She and her husband, Jason, live in North Aurora with their children, Graham and Evelise, and currently attend Calvary West Church in Sugar Grove, IL.

Mr. Bob Gorbold is the math department chair at ACS. After graduating from Taylor University in 2005 with a BS in Mathematics Education, he taught high school math at the Cornerstone Campus for six years. During this time, he completed an MA in Christian Ministry from Liberty University and originally joined ACS teaching both Bible and Math. He has a strong passion for the Bible and teaches that the pursuit of God’s truth in mathematics is an act of worship. He has three young children that bring him more joy than he thought possible. He can frequently be found playing board games, ping pong, or having meaningful conversations with his students. His family attends Harvest Bible Chapel in Aurora.

Mrs. Monica Gum grew up in Elburn, Illinois. She got her degree in Elementary Education in December, 1998, and immediately started teaching 5th grade in January, 1999, at Cornerstone Christian Academy in Sycamore, IL. She continued her education and went on to teach junior high special education for a couple of years in the public schools. Once she started her family, she took time off from teaching to raise her three children, who currently attend ACS. She has worked from home over 11 years, running a successful Longarm Quilting business. Mrs. Gum lives in Dekalb with her husband and three children: Wyatt, Andrew, and Heidi. The family attends Dekalb Four Square Church.
Mrs. Beth Harner joined the Aurora Christian Athletic Department in 2013. She serves as an Assistant to the ACS Athletic Director, Mr. Dan Beebe. She enjoys spending time with her family whether at a sporting event, vacation or just sitting around the table talking. She also enjoys watching good old Hallmark movies. She and her husband Paul have five children Jennifer (Matt), Brent (Kim), Janelle (Myles), Brooke and Brock. They currently live in Sugar Grove and attend Fox River Church in Sheridan.

Mrs. Anne Hauser has been a member of the Aurora Christian School faculty since 2005. Mrs. Hauser was born and raised in Menomonee Falls, WI. She graduated from Augustana College in Rock Island, IL with a degree in music education. She taught 7-12 band in the Edgewood-Colesburg, IA school district for one year before heading home to teach. Mrs. Hauser taught seven years for the Lutheran High School Association of Greater Milwaukee in the elementary band program. While teaching there, she completed her Master of Music in Music Education at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. Mrs. Hauser is currently the 4-12 Instrumental Music Director at Aurora Christian. While at Aurora Christian, she has coordinated the High School Band for the IL/WI ACSI Music Festival. She lives in Aurora with her husband, Jonathan, and daughters, Rachel and Rebekah. She attends Immanuel Lutheran in Batavia.

Mrs. Holly Henning has been working at ACS since 2005. After graduating from ACS in 1993, she attended Judson University in Elgin, Illinois, and earned a degree in Elementary Education. She worked for six years at Wegnar Elementary in West Chicago, teaching 3rd and 4th grade. She and her husband live in Aurora with their two sons, Kyle and Carter, and they attend Harvest Baptist in Oswego.

Mrs. Heidi Herbert has been a part of Aurora Christian School since 1987, taking two years off to live and work with abused and neglected children in Alabama. Throughout her years at ACS, she has served as a 3rd grade teacher, a 9th and 10th grade English teacher, a middle school Bible teacher, and an office assistant. Currently, she teaches 6th-8th grade language arts. Mrs. Herbert and her husband Mike, an ACS graduate, along with their two daughters, live in Aurora and attend Bethany Road Bible Church in Sycamore, IL.

Mrs. Racheal Hertz joined ACS in 2020 as the 6th and 7th grade Math Teacher. She also works with students in the Middle School Focus Program. Mrs. Hertz graduated from Aurora University with a B.A. in Elementary Education and a minor in Mathematics. She taught middle school for three years in a private school before teaching in St. Charles Public Schools in their Gifted Math Program. Mrs. Hertz and her husband Mark live in Batavia with their three children, Jackson, Matthew, and Emma. Mrs. Hertz enjoys reading good books, geocaching with her kids, and being with family. Mrs. Hertz attends Harvest Bible Chapel in Aurora where her husband serves as a deacon and where she leads a middle school girl’s small group.

Dr. Collette House began teaching high school mathematics and sports medicine at Aurora Christian Schools in the fall of 1992. Throughout her years at ACS, she also served as the certified athletic trainer for the Eagles and director of the Chapel Band (student worship team). Dr. House earned a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics and Secondary Education from Bethel University in St. Paul, Minnesota. She completed a Master's degree in Educational Leadership at Aurora University in 2001, and earned her Doctoral degree in Organizational Leadership through Northcentral University in 2016. Dr. House has been a part of the administrative team since 2000, became Middle/High School principal in 2006, and assumed her current role as Superintendent in 2010. In addition to her work at Aurora Christian, Dr. House serves as a board member for the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI), as chair of the Mid-America Regional Accreditation Commission and as a member of the global Commission on Accreditation for ACSI. She collaborates with other Christian school administrators and promotes excellence in Christian education throughout our region and around the world. Dr. House lives in Aurora and attends Highpoint Church in North Aurora, Illinois.

Mrs. Mayra Johnson is the Preschool and Elementary School Principal at ACS. Mrs. Johnson started her teaching career in East Aurora School District as a 1st grade bilingual teacher. Since then she has continued her role as a teacher, Reading Specialist, Assistant Principal and Principal. Mrs. Johnson has had the opportunity to study at Judson College, Aurora University, and National Louis University where she has acquired her BA, MA and ESL endorsement. She has also had the opportunity to work in East Aurora School District, Wheaton Warrenville School District and Yorkville Community Unit School District. Within these school districts, Mrs. Johnson has had an opportunity to also work with a variety of populations such as EL (English Learner) students, students in the Stars (Skills Training and Related Services) programs, students with IEPs and gifted students. After numerous years in public education, Mrs. Johnson was looking for something different for herself and her daughters. Mrs. Johnson was praying for God's guidance to what was next in her life and she and her family landed at ACS. She is excited for the new adventure and to see what God has in store for all. She and her family (Adam/husband, Madalynn and Hannah/daughters) live in Plano and attend Harvest New Beginnings in Oswego, IL where they are active members and serve on the worship team. In her spare time, Mrs. Johnson likes to spend time with family, exercise, compete in races, travel, and if time allows, cook.

Mrs. Donelle Johnson was born and raised in central Minnesota. In 2003 she moved to Illinois to attend college. While completing her degrees Donelle worked as a preschool assistant and nannied. She now lives in Aurora with her husband Mike and their daughter Shelby. In her free time Mrs. J enjoys camping, bike riding, kayaking, hiking, and spending time with her entire family!

Mrs. Kok graduated from Judson University with a BA in Elementary Education and an emphasis in art. After receiving certification, she turned her attention to art and began working at Crossway Publishers in the art and production department. Five years later, the first of her 4 boys was born and the next 12 years were spent focusing on her family and mothering her children. In 2009, she reentered the workforce, teaching preschool at Trinity Christian School for two years. Following this, she worked at Prairie Point Elementary School in Oswego for 10 years; 4 years as a teaching aide with deaf and hard of hearing children and 6 years as a reading and math interventionist. She has served at church in many capacities, including serving with the youth and planning summer mission trips. Mrs. Kok and her family live in Sugar Grove and attend Village Bible Church of Aurora. Mrs. Kok is grateful to be serving at Aurora Christian School, combining her love of teaching and art.

Mrs. Tiffany Lantz is a native Texan who graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Physical Education and a master’s degree in Kinesiology. Her undergrad includes a minor in Educational Studies. Tiffany has led from a variety of positions in education including coaching and teaching. She has taught Special education, Kinesiology, Teen Leadership, and classes in an Early College High School program. She also served the past two years as a Pre-K teacher at a Christian School in Bullard, Texas. Mrs. Lantz has recently moved to Aurora from Texas where her husband Caleb is serving as the Associate Pastor at Crossroads Community Church. They have two children, Tenley and Carter, who will both attend ACS. In her free time Mrs. Lantz loves to craft, explore new places (especially coffee shops) and spend time with her 80-pound Goldendoodle, Biscuit.
Mrs. Destiny Llamas joined the staff at ACS as Publications and Design Assistant, in the year 2019. In addition to her current role, she now offers her support as the Admissions Assistant. She was born and raised in Aurora, Illinois, where she and her husband, Orlando, and their 3 children currently reside. Even though she and her family are newer to the ACS family, they are fully invested in the Aurora Christian community. They currently attend Impact Church in Aurora.

Mrs. Laurie Madsen enjoys helping students find health and fitness through physical activity. She has been teaching Physical Education and Health since 1999 at Aurora Christian Schools. She has taught a variety of other classes as well through her tenure at ACS. Laurie has coordinated missions trips overseas along with middle school outdoor ed and Washington DC trips in the past. Over the last several years the physical education department has developed new classes to include many adventure and fitness sports that are popular under her leadership. She is also part of the high school volleyball program. Her desire is to see athletes use their skills to honor God and bring others to Christ through athletics. Laurie lives with her husband, Kent in Montgomery. They have two adult children, Kirsten and Trey. The Madsens attend Calvary Church in Naperville.

Miss Danielle Maroney found a passion for working with students during her time working with the Awana program and teaching Sunday school in her church. She attended Aurora University and earned her degree in English for Secondary Education. She is passionate about helping students read a variety of different genres to help them connect with the world and those around them. She has helped with the drama productions as a way to connect with students outside of the classroom. She loves having her room feel like home and to be a gathering place to make stronger connections with students. She currently attends Harvest New Beginnings in Oswego.
Mrs. Deb McKinney joined the ACS staff in 1987. She is currently serving as Principals' & Office Assistant, but has worked in various support staff roles over her 30+ years at ACS.
Mrs. Diane McQuade joined the Aurora Christian Athletic Department in 2011. She serves as an Assistant to the ACS Athletic Director, Mr. Dan Beebe. Diane thoroughly enjoys working with the ACS student athletes and their families. She and her husband Bob have four children Becky, Craig, Lisa and Ryan. They currently live in Yorkville, IL and attend Calvary West Church in Sugar Grove.

Mrs. Christina Meldrum teaches Algebra 1 and Algebra 2 courses at ACS. While math has not always been “easy” for her, Mrs. Meldrum had to work hard at fully comprehending the content. Demonstrating a good work ethic helped her get through her toughest classes. As a teacher of adolescents, her goal is to mold and shape each student’s mind to work hard and persevere through the rigorous subject of math, while learning some good life skills along the way. Mrs. Meldrum graduated from Olivet Nazarene University with a B.S. in Mathematics Education, certified in the middle school and secondary levels. She enjoys being outdoors and exploring the beautiful world the Lord created for us. She is always looking for cool, new places to check out (food, parks, entertainment, etc.), and is always open to suggestions!

Ms. Karianne Mora has a bachelor of arts in early childhood education with a special education emphasis and an ESL endorsement from NIU. She is also currently pursuing a master’s degree in organizational leadership from Judson University. Mrs. Mora began her teaching career with Cornerstone Christian Academy in 2016 in the preschool. Since then, she has taught in 3rd, 1st and kindergarten. Ms. Mora felt called by the Lord to work in a Christian setting, and she enjoys teaching some of the Lord’s youngest people. She lives in Sycamore with her three children and golden retriever. Ms. Mora attends Crossview EFCA church in Sycamore with her family. She has served many years on the children’s team there.
Cesia Morgan was born and raised in Antigua, Guatemala where she felt the call to become a teacher. She has a teaching certificate awarded from El Ministerio de Educación de la Republica de Guatemala. She is a passionate leader and educator who brings a high level energy mentality into every aspect of her work. Her passion for traveling and learning new languages brought her to the States 12 years ago. She has had the privilege of teaching 1st and 2nd grade. She also has experience working with both children and adults who wanted to learn Spanish using various Spanish education curriculum. She currently lives in Aurora with her husband, Micah Morgan and two kids, Andrew and Abby. Following Christ is her first priority and she takes to heart the responsibility of sharing God’s love and truth in the classroom. Her family currently attends Highpoint Church in North Aurora.

Mrs. Oleson was born and raised in West Aurora. She earned a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Northern Illinois University and a Master’s degree in Reading Instruction from Aurora University. Mrs. Oleson taught 5th grade and 2nd grade in Oswego CUSD 308 for a combined 11 years. In 2014, Mrs. Oleson took a step back from teaching to be home full-time with her young children. She returned to teaching in 2020 and taught 4th grade in West Aurora SD 129 before pursuing a teaching career in Christian education at ACS. Mrs. Oleson and her family are members of Village Bible Church in Sugar Grove. She lives in Aurora with her husband, Lance, and their three children: Caleb, Gracie and Jocelyn.
Mrs. Beate Pryor is originally from Richton Park, IL. As a teenager, her family moved to California. Mrs. Pryor has earned a Bachelors of Science degree at Sacramento State University, California and a Master's degree in Reading from Walden University. Mrs. Pryor has been teaching since 1997 in California and Oregon. She has taught 2nd, 3rd, and 5th grade. Mrs. Pryor has also been a STEM coordinator for several years, primarily coaching teachers in the area of science and math. Mrs. Pryor has returned to IL to pursue a teaching career in Christian education at ACS.
Mrs. Pryor lives in Sugar Grove with her husband, Rob and son, Landon. She enjoys family vacations, hiking and card making.
Ms. Quick was born and raised in Naperville. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Middle Childhood Education from the University of Dayton in 2018. She then taught for three years, two of those in Arizona. Ms. Quick returns to Illinois excited to see what God has in store for her here. You will always find her ecstatic to worship and discuss scripture with her classes. In addition, she loves to be outside and active. Ms. Quick also enjoys reading, studying scripture, and spending time with her friends and family.

Mrs. Rivera was raised in Atlanta, Georgia. She is a graduate of Georgia State University with a BBA in Management. Upon graduation Mrs. Rivera began working for an exporting firm which involved extensive travel throughout Latin America. In 1998, Mrs. Rivera moved to Santiago, Chile during which time she became bilingual and met her husband, Italo. Upon their return to the United States she worked as a Business Analyst for a leading lighting firm for over 10 years. Mrs. Rivera began working at ACS in 2013. Mrs. Rivera along with her husband and 2 children, Preston and Amelia, resides in Bogart GA, and attends University Church of Christ in Athens, Georgia.

Mrs. Rogers grew up in Lake Zurich, Illinois and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education (K-9) with a dual concentration in both English and Science from Bradley University in Peoria, Illinois. She has been teaching Kindergarten, 1st, and 2nd grade since graduating. Before coming to Aurora Christian in 2018, Mrs. Rogers taught for 3 years in Woodstock, Illinois teaching 1st grade and coaching Girls on the Run. Mrs. Rogers currently lives in North Aurora with her husband, Derek, a local pastor at Flowing Forth United Methodist Church. Together they have a 4-year-old dachshund named Wrigley who loves to explore and cuddle (can you guess which baseball team we root for?). In January 2020, they welcomed their son Liam into the world. In their free time, Mrs. Rogers likes to explore new places, hike, playing with Liam, and spending time as a family.

Ms. Jacquie Sanders was raised in Aurora, Illinois, and is an alumna of Aurora Christian School, graduating in 1994. After graduation, she moved to Hampton, VA, earning a BS in Political Science from Hampton University in 1998. She completed her Masters in TIE (Technology in Education) from National Louis University in June 2018. She then finished her masters of Education in Teaching, Learning, and Assessment in June 2020. She joined the staff at Aurora Christian School in 2011 as an extended care worker, and the Preschool staff as an aide in January 2012. She is currently serving as the Technology Teacher for middle and high school students. Ms. Sanders is a life-long member of Main Baptist Church in Aurora, IL.

Mrs. Karen Schien grew up in Montgomery, Illinois and attended Aurora Christian School her junior and senior year of high school. After having children, she decided to continue her education and get her master’s degree so that she could teach. In 2002, she began working at ACS part-time and served for three years with the NILD program, then moved into the classroom having taught 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders. Her favorite part of teaching is getting to know her students, their interests, and what gets them excited.
She is married to Mike and has three children, Jessica, Jacob, and Joshua. She enjoys being outdoors and spending time with her family. Mrs. Schien attends Christ Community Church's Blackberry Creek Campus in Aurora.

Mr. Isaiah Shaffer joined the ACS staff in 2019 and currently teaches middle school Bible. After graduating from ACS in 2013, he attended Moody Bible Institute and earned a degree in Pastoral Ministry. Mr. Shaffer has served as the Student Pastor at The Well church in Geneva since 2017. He and his wife Ragan live in Geneva, where they love to explore new restaurants, coffee shops, and book stores. They also love to do most things outdoors such as camping, hiking, kayaking, and frequently look for the next great adventure!

Mrs. Michele Smoot began working at Aurora Christian in 2009, where she has worked in multiple positions. Her passion is teaching Preschool, impacting the minds of the young learner, as well as teaching them about Christ. Her interests include refurbishing old furniture pieces and spending time with family. Mrs. Smoot lives in Batavia with her husband, Dave and three children Grace, Joshua, and Benjamin, who have attended Aurora Christian since preschool. Mrs. Smoot and her family attend Harvest Bible Chapel in Aurora, where she enjoys attending small group and serving The Lord.
Mrs. Jennifer Snyder is originally from Hopewell, Pennsylvania. She attended Gannon University in Erie, PA, where she graduated with a B.S. in Legal Studies and worked as a paralegal. After marrying in 2010 and following the birth of her two children, she stepped away from work to focus on raising her two wonderful boys. In 2018 she transitioned to Oswego, Illinois so that the family pursued new opportunities. As her children grew older she was eager to return to work and found a home at ACS in March of 2021. In her spare time she enjoys gardening and watching her boys grow and become amazing humans.

Sharla Stark joined the ACS staff in December of 2020. She was previously involved in foreign mission work for several years and other church ministries in the States for years as well. Sharla has been a part of various opportunities, from teaching children at church, to editing, singing, and playing the piano. She has also loved teaching her own children to read and play the piano. Some of her other work has included volunteering for theater productions and working at Dayspring Arts and Education, in Maryland Heights, Mo. She enjoys spending time with her family, caring for children and youth, singing, playing the piano, drawing, painting, writing, reading novels, swimming, traveling, and going on adventures. She and her family attend The Compass Church. One of her favorite Bible verses is Romans 8:38, 39.

Miss Andrea Stone joined the staff of Aurora Christian Preschool in 2020. She began teaching preschoolers in 2014, after graduating with an Early Childhood degree from Waubonsee Community College. Miss Stone grew up in Aurora and with strong ties to the ACS school community. She was actively involved in cheerleading, choir and the school’s drama program. While studying at Aurora Christian High School, Miss Stone was voted “Most Likely to Work at ACS.” She is grateful that this lighthearted prediction became a reality. Miss Stone lives in Wheaton and loves spending time with her 7 nephews and 1 niece.

Mr. Dan Stone has been teaching at ACS since 1988. He was born in Aurora, but grew up in Naperville. He received a Foodservice degree in 1978 where he managed restaurants until the Lord called him into education. He went back to college in 1980 and taught in the Lutheran school system for 6 years; 3 years in Michigan and 3 years in Park Forest, IL, until he was hired in 1988 at ACS. Although Mr. Stone has taught many subjects, and has coached many sports at many levels, he has mostly taught middle school History. Mr. Stone and his wife, Donna, live in Aurora where they raised their 3 daughters, Rachel, Mary and Andrea, all of whom have graduated from ACS. Mr. Stone is also the proud grandpa of 8 beautiful grandchildren. The Stones attend Wheaton Bible Church where Donna is the Administrative Assistant for the Pastor.

Mrs. Priscilla Talley joined ACS in 1985 as a kindergarten teacher, and taught 28 years in that position. Currently, she teaches third grade. Her three children, Adam, Mark, and Amanda, all attended ACS. She is a lifelong resident of Aurora. She and her family are members of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Aurora, where she has been active in Women's Ministry, Meal Missionary volunteers, and ministry to senior citizens within her congregation and community.

Mrs. Janine Tognarelli has been with Aurora Christian School since 1981. Mrs. Tognarelli was born in the original Copley Memorial Hospital in Aurora, Illinois, and was raised in North Aurora. After graduating from West Aurora High School in 1977, she attended Carthage College in Kenosha, Wisconsin, and Vandercook College of Music in Chicago, Illinois. After graduating from college she was hired to teach kindergarten through 12th graders at Aurora Christian, along with coaching the J.V. and Varsity Cheerleading squads. In 2011, God began working in Mrs. Tognarelli's heart, calling her into elementary education. She returned to school in the summer of 2012, at Judson University, to finish her K-9 certification in education. At Aurora Christian, "Mrs. T." has taught elementary, middle school, and high school age students, taught in three different buildings, and is now using her gifts in teaching and love for students to impact the lives of students in an elementary classroom. She and her husband, Michael, live in Batavia and attend Batavia Covenant Church in Batavia, Illinois.

Dr. Bill Trapp began teaching Mathematics at Aurora Christian Schools in 2019. Dr. Trapp was born and raised in northern Illinois. He received his Ph.D. in Educational Psychology from the University of Illinois - Chicago in 2018. Prior to that, he received an M.S. in Educational Research from Northern Illinois University and a B.S. in Mathematics with a minor in Physics from Western Illinois University. Currently, Dr. Trapp is teaching Geometry, Honors Geometry, and Functions, Statistics, and Trigonometry. Prior to teaching at ACS, Dr. Trapp developed standardized mathematics assessments for the College Board including the SAT and ACCUPLACER. Dr. Trapp and his family attend Christ Community Church at the Dekalb campus.
Mrs Sarah Vizcaya joined the staff of Aurora Christian in 2020 as the part-time Preschool Secretary. Sarah is a lifetime resident of Aurora and is a 2002 alumni of ACS. Sarah and her husband, Dan have two children who both attend Aurora Christian.

Mrs. Wendy Waltmire joined the ACS staff in 2019 and is currently teaching middle school science. Her previous teaching experiences include preschool, kindergarten, first grade and 2nd grade in the public school systems of Crystal Lake and Naperville. She also taught at International Christian Academy in Brussels, Belgium and did missions work in western Europe for 2 years before getting married to her husband, Shane. While raising their three daughters, she worked part-time in senior high youth ministry, coordinating missions, directing children’s ministry and then teaching 5th grade at a Calvary Church/Christian School in Naperville. Mrs. Waltmire, her husband, their three daughters, dog, and cat live in Geneva.

Mr. Bill Warner is an Aurora native who has been following Christ for almost four decades. Prior to joining the ACS faculty in the Fall of 2011, Mr. Warner served for more than 10 years as the pastor of a local church. He is a graduate of Moody Bible Institute and Biola’s Talbot School of Theology. Mr. Warner has a passion for biblical discipleship and serves as chair of the Bible Department at ACS. He and his lovely wife, Duvonna, have been married over 35 years and have two wonderful children, both graduates of ACS: their daughter Brittany and their son Braxton. And their newest addition to the family is their cocker spaniel Cosette! When he’s not in the classroom, or reading a good book over a good cup of coffee in a corner of a good coffee shop, you can find Mr. Warner doing most anything outdoors, deriving special enjoyment from bicycling and tossing around a Frisbee.
Mrs. Duvonna Warner has worked in the Food Service Industry for over 15 years. She has managed kitchen staffs of nearly twenty people serving as many as 1000 meals per day. She enjoys creating meals from scratch and trying new recipes as a testament to God’s good and abundant creation. “Taste and see that the Lord is good” are not idle words for her. Duvonna’s most precious joys are her wonderful husband Bill, to whom she has been married for over 35 years, two wonderful children (both graduates of ACS), daughter Brittany and son Braxton, as well as the newest addition to the family her cocker spaniel Cosette! Additionally, Duvonna enjoys fishing, seafood, and crawfish boils!

Miss Rachel Weber grew up in Aurora and graduated from Olivet Nazarene University. Prior to graduation, she student taught in second grade at Aurora Christian. She spent 4 years in an Oswego school district before returning to Aurora Christian to teach kindergarten in 2019. Miss Weber lives in Aurora and attends Trinity Church of the Nazarene.

Mr. Grahame Wilkin has been a professional artist for over 20 years. His experiences in the arts cover a wide range. Mr. Wilkin has been an art tutor for students with severe autism, an artist showing in art galleries including shows in multiple story buildings, a cartoonist for the newspaper, a graphic designer for major fortune 500 companies, an Art Director in charge of a staff of art designers, a sculptor for different church displays, a limited edition print artist for church fund raising, a muralist for inside and outside of buildings and homes, including five 50 foot by 30 foot backdrop paintings for the Paramount theater in Downtown Aurora, and a book illustrator. Mr. Wilkin is a member of several national art and education associations, as well as the ACSI Community Champions, and he serves as an instructor at Joni and Friends Camp teaching art to students with disabilities. Mr. Wilkin and his students have created over twenty murals in the Fox Valley area. He and his wife of over 20 years, Jodi, live in Aurora with their two daughters, Madalayne and Alexandera. The Wilkins attend First Presbyterian Church in Aurora, IL.

Mrs. Sarah Woodward grew up in Plainfield, IL. She attended her high school years at Aurora Christian and graduated in 1988. She originally majored in Accounting, but switched her major to Elementary Ed. After graduation, she taught business classes for one year at ACS at the high school level, then married her husband Andy and taught 2nd grade an additional 6 years. She left teaching to start a family and raise their daughter Annabelle. She returned as a Prek - 12th grade substitute once her daughter began school at ACS. She began her role as Finance Asst. in 2013 and loves working in the school setting and where her daughter (now in high school) attends. Mrs. Woodward and her family reside in Aurora and attend Harvest Bible Chapel - Aurora.

Mrs. Tracey Wright is the Elementary Physical Education Teacher at both the Aurora and Cornerstone campus of ACS. She has taught Physical Education at Cornerstone since 2001. She has had three sons that graduated from ACS, Jason, Jawanza, and Jeremiah. Mrs. Wright is in the process of getting her bi-vocational ministry license with the Evangelical Covenant Church. She has helped her husband Jerry as he pastors the Rock Covenant Church in Dekalb, Illinois since 2004. She has enjoyed leading the Women of Shekinah Women’s Ministry for 16 years. Along with teaching Bible study and Sunday school, she has had many opportunities to speak at church and women conferences. Mrs. Wright loves the Lord with all her heart, and shares the goodness of Jesus to anyone who will listen.
Mrs. Zielke has been with ACS since 2001 as the preschool registrar/secretary. She and husband David have four children, who are all alumni of ACS. They have been blessed with eight amazing grandchildren! They live in Bristol, and attend Cross Lutheran Church in Yorkville. Mrs. Zielke enjoys spending time with her grandchildren, likes watching the Chicago Cubs and Blackhawks with her family and enjoys photography. She said she has one of the best jobs, watching God's little ones grow in their Love for Jesus!

Mr. Andy Zorger has been at ACS since the 2007-08 school year. He was born in and grew up in Fort Wayne, IN. Mr. Zorger attended and graduated from Indiana Wesleyan University in 2006 with a degree in Social Studies Education, where he also played baseball. After college, he worked as a teaching assistant at Scullen Middle School in Naperville, IL, during the 2006-07 school year. Mr. Zorger currently teaches AP World History, World History, and Economics and is the Varsity Baseball Coach. He and his wife, Rachel, live in Aurora with their 4 boys: Jackson, Carter, Harrison, and Lincoln. The Zorgers attend Ginger Creek Community Church in Aurora, IL.

Mrs. Rachel Zorger joined the staff at Aurora Christian Schools in 2020 as the Director of Admissions. However, her long-standing relationship with the ACS community extends to when she first began attending ACS as a kindergarten student. As the daughter of a veteran teacher, Mr. Dan Stone, Mrs. Zorger spent much of her time with other ACS families, teachers and staff. She continued her studies at Aurora Christian until her high school graduation in 2001. Following graduation, Mrs. Zorger attended Indiana Wesleyan University where she received a B.S. degree in Athletic Training. Mrs. Zorger has many interests, including meeting new people and watching her sons play sports. Mrs. Zorger is married to Andy Zorger, who teaches and coaches at Aurora Christian High School. They live in Aurora with their four sons who also attend Aurora Christian Schools. Their family worships at Ginger Creek Church in Aurora, where Rachel previously served as Director of Children’s Ministries for seven years.
