Service is an important part of a student's life here at Aurora Christian. We seek to fulfill our mission statement by encouraging and promoting service to our school body, community, and beyond.
Mission Impossible
"Mission Impossible is a way to reach out to people in need and have fun doing it!"
- Taylor Pape, class of '2010
Each spring during Spring Break, approximately 150 High School students from Aurora Christian High School venture out into our community and serve through a construction service project. This school-wide missions trip is something that our students, teachers, parents, and administrators look forward to each spring.
Christian Service
As a means of fulfilling the school's mission of preparing students for a life of service to Christ and their world, each high school student must complete 8 hours of Christian service per quarter, and each middle school student must complete 4 hours of Christian service per quarter. This service must be performed during the current quarter for non-family members, verified by parents, and submitted for a percentage of the Bible grade.
Annual Day of Service
Each year, our High School students spend one regular school day serving the community in a variety of ways. During October 2009, each grade level was assigned a particular need to serve, and spent an afternoon serving...
-
9th grade - Community
-
10th grade - Children
-
11th grade - Elderly
-
12th grade - Hungry
We look forward to next year's day of service! Email Mrs. Henning if you have a particular need that we could fill next October.
In an effort to create an online bulletin board of service opportunities for students of Aurora Christian, please submit a post below. Thanks for your help as we strive to help our students help you!
