Mrs. JoAnne Adamson began her teaching career in 1977, teaching 3rd grade, at Grant/White school in Forest Park, IL. Since then she has taught children from preschool through high school in both public and Christian schools. In 1992, she came to ACS teaching 4th grade for ten years and 3rd grade for one year. JoAnne felt God leading her to work with students who struggle to learn. In 2002, she began working with students one on one as and NILD Educational Therapist in the Discovery Center at ACS, finishing certification in 2007. She continues today as a part time independent NILD Educational Therapist. In 2007, JoAnne became the Focus Teacher at ACS, helping high school students who struggle succeed. JoAnne and her husband live in Aurora IL. Her husband is the Senior Chaplain at Stateville Prison in Joliet, ILL. They have three children Brittaney, Naperville, IL., Jacquie New York City, NY, and Rich who is in the Navy. George and JoAnne pastor Claim the Street Church.
