Co-operative Education

The student will be placed in a work situation within the school setting. He/she will learn a variety of skills depending on the work situation. The student works directly with a supervising teacher and is responsible to him or her. The student's grade is determined each quarter by an evaluation by the teacher. Typical activities include the following: correcting students' work, helping students on an individual basis, leading the class in an activity, preparing bulletin boards, organizing materials, working independently to show self-motivation, teaching a task, and typing work materials for the teacher. Co-ops may also be assigned to the office, library, and custodial staff. Open to grade 11, 12. (Credit: .5)
