Co-operative Education
The student will be placed in a work situation within the school setting. He/she will learn a variety of skills depending on the work situation. The student works directly with a supervising teacher and is responsible to him or her. The student's grade is determined each quarter by an evaluation by the teacher. Typical activities include the following: correcting students' work, helping students on an individual basis, leading the class in an activity, preparing bulletin boards, organizing materials, working independently to show self-motivation, teaching a task, and typing work materials for the teacher. Co-ops may also be assigned to the office, library, and custodial staff. Open to grade 11, 12. (Credit: .25)

Students who take this year-long course work as a team to produce the Elementary and Middle School / High School yearbooks from start to finish. This yearbook is created to be informative and meaningful for 1 year, 5 years, and 50 years to come. The students strive to represent every student and all aspects of student life at Aurora Christian through planning, photographing, interviewing, writing stories, designing yearbook pages, editing, advertising, and selling yearbook ads. This course is very enjoyable and also helps students to grow in their abilities to prioritize and develop time management skills.  Open to 11th and 12 grade students who meet the following requirements:  demonstration of the ability to work independently, approval of both the yearbook and previous year's English teachers,  Class size is limited and first consideration will be given to students who have already taken the class.
