Welcome to the Aurora Christian Band Program! The Music Department strives for excellence in all that we do. If you are continuing in the band program from junior high, welcome back. If you are new to Aurora Christian School or just new to the band program, welcome. It is my hope and prayer that the students involved in the High School band will use their talents to serve the Lord and grow the band program as members throughout their high school career.
Being in band is a fun and rewarding experience. Many students will testify that being a part of the band program enhances their overall Aurora Christian experience. It provides an excellent opportunity for community involvement and can lead to friendships and memories that will last a lifetime.
As a member of the band, you will invest time and effort into an activity that will allow you to grow not only musically, but also spiritually, as an individual and as a team. One of the primary goals of the band program is to develop a lifelong love for music making. Music has the power to enrich life both in high school and in the years beyond. Students will learn a greater appreciation of music and can become contributing, supporting members of our musical community.
The high school band program at Aurora Christian High School consists of one band. The band performs for Veteran’s Day, the annual Christmas and Spring Concerts, and at various sporting events, and also attends the Illinois/Wisconsin ACSI Music Festival each year. The students are also involved in small ensembles for our annual Coffee House Live: An Evening of Musical Entertainment and Generosity.
Aurora Christian strives to foster community interaction and is always looking for ways to promote more student involvement in music. We encourage our students to perform in their churches and help younger students at the elementary and junior high level with their own musical challenges.
The High School Band at Aurora Christian is open to anyone who wants to continue their musical training or discover new talents. If you are looking for a comprehensive music program where you can participate in a close knit group with shared goals, the Aurora Christian band program is the place for you!
