ATHLETICS MISSION STATEMENT
May God help us to build character through competition, passionately inspire a devotion to excellence, and develop champions for Jesus Christ.
PHILOSOPHY OF ATHLETICS
"Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men." Colossians 3:23 (NIV)
We believe that competition presents challenges similar to those that every person might one day face throughout life. Although these challenges may be on a smaller scale, the ways in which we overcome them and the lessons that we learn from them are the same. Aurora Christian’s Athletic Program is dedicated to developing character through sports. We strive to promote working together in oneness, to conquer fears, to overcome obstacles, to look for lessons and motivation in loss and for humility and opportunity in victory.
Most importantly, we strive to honorably represent our Lord Jesus Christ and to advance His kingdom through our words, our thoughts, and our deeds. The only true prescription to accomplish this task is found in the Bible, the inspired Word of God. At Aurora Christian School, we recognize a battle far greater than any sports arena: a battle for people’s eternal souls. As coaches at Aurora Christian School, we are to be diligent and desperate as we fight to develop champions for Christ. Let us make a pledge together to focus on the invisible, chase the intangible, and do the impossible.

We continue to have a very high participation rate for a school of our size with 19 teams at the high school and another 13 teams at the middle school level. In addition, the class of 2018-19 had 15 students-athletes signing to play their respective sports at the collegiate level with 3 of these student-athletes going on to play at Division I schools.
More importantly, we believe that our athletic competition presents challenges similar to those that every person might one day face throughout life. Although these challenges may be on a smaller scale, the ways in which our student-athletes overcome them and the lessons learned from them are the same. ACS’s Athletic Program is dedicated to developing character through sports. We strive to promote working together in oneness, to conquer fears, to overcome obstacles, to look for lessons and motivation in loss and for humility and opportunity in victory.
We are also proud of the contributions that the ACS Boosters’ Club has been able to provide to ACS athletics – all made possible by our amazing volunteers and your generous support and donations.
- To honor Christ by assisting in the development of Champions for Christ through raising funds to support and provide for the needs of all sports offered by Aurora Christian Schools and promote and encourage school spirit in a Christ honoring way.
In 2017-2018, the ACS Boosters Board “relaunched” the Boosters with the goal of increasing the impact of the organization and involving the majority of the student-athletes’ families in the Boosters Club. To this end, we launched a membership program to increase involvement. We have also begun selling Spirit Wear so parents and students alike can readily access ACS Spirit Wear to bolster school spirit. Look for our Spirit Wear Booth at the Block Party, Midnight Madness, Football, Basketball and Volleyball games and at Grandparents’ day.
We have worked hard to continue to improve our outstanding concessions and have increased the events that we sell concessions at including various concerts and the Block Party. We look forward to holding a trivia night fundraiser this fall and will shortly be rolling out a new corporate sponsorship program. That along with our Golf Outing and Bake Sale makes for a busy Booster’s fundraising schedule.
We could not accomplish all this without your continued support of our student-athletes in their pursuit of excellence both on and off the field.
Our fundraising efforts allowed the Boosters to grant over $24,000 to the teams to fund such things as uniforms, league fees, transportation and post season playoff expenses. We awarded a total of $2,000 of college scholarships to two senior student-athletes, Tori Henning and Kyle Groesch, that most demonstrated Christian leadership on and off the field.
The 2019-2020 ACS Boosters Membership Program is underway. We are once again offering several levels of support:
- Screaming Eagle: $500
- Soaring Eagle: $250
- Eagle: $100
- Silver Eagle: $75 (Grandparents)
- Eaglet: $50
- Nestling: $20
A membership form is available in the link below for your convenience if you want to get a jump start on the membership program. You can always drop a completed membership form and related fee at the main office during normal office hours.
Thank you for your continued support – it means so much to our student-athletes! Help us make Champions for Christ!
